Equipment Repair FAQs
Common questions about pool equipment repairs
We charge a diagnostic fee for service calls, which covers the trip and time to diagnose the problem. If you proceed with the repair, this fee is often applied toward the total cost. We'll quote you the diagnostic fee when you schedule.
Loud pump noises usually indicate worn bearings, cavitation (air in the system), or debris in the impeller. Grinding sounds often mean bearings are failing and the pump needs attention soon to prevent complete motor failure.
Generally, if repair costs exceed 50% of replacement cost, or if the pump is over 8-10 years old, replacement may be the better investment. New variable speed pumps can cut energy costs by 70-80%, often paying for themselves within 2-3 years.
Many repairs are completed same-day if we have the parts. More complex repairs or those requiring special-order parts may take a few days. We'll give you a timeline estimate with your quote.
Yes, we service all major brands including Pentair, Hayward, Jandy, Zodiac, Polaris, and more. If you have an unusual or older brand, let us know when you call—we can usually help.
